New website in the works!

December 24, 2011

Its been pretty dead here for a while now, but we are working on getting http://www.24blackbirdschocolate.com up and running. There is a site there, but it will be changing constantly as we get it designed. For the time being, it has most of the basic information about us, in a not-so-flatteringly plain style. So check it out (and bookmark us so you don’t have to type the long URL every time you want to visit).

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Free Chocolate!

March 15, 2010

Here in Santa Barbara, on the first Thursday of each month, participating galleries open their doors to the public and we get a fresh look at what artists from all over the place are doing. This month, our favorite coffee shop, The French Press, very generously let us hand out free samples of our 70% Ghanaian chocolate bar during their art opening. There was a great turnout, and we got some terrific feedback. We were so glad to have met so many new chocolate lovers and to have had the opportunity to share our chocolate at such a wonderful event!

Deliveries

February 27, 2010

While in the Bay Area, Mike got word that half of our new molds had arrived in Santa Barbara. Even though we’ve only received a few, we’ve been busy playing and doing lots of experimenting with temperature profiles to try and get the snappiest, glossiest bars we can get. Stay tuned for the unveiling of our new bars very soon…

In other good news, when I picked up the mail this afternoon, I found my safe food handling certificate had arrived – another very important piece of the puzzle!

Whirlwind

February 19, 2010

This past weekend, the very first sample run of our single origin Ghana chocolate bars left our hands, and ventured out into the world. In a whirlwind tour of the Bay Area, we left samples of our chocolate with friends, family and a few shop owners who have expressed their interest. The feedback has been great and very much appreciated, on everything from the taste to the packaging. It was a terrific visit (minus one flat tire), and the weather stayed gorgeous, and the fog even rolled in classically in San Francisco.
